Youth artwork created for Cobourg’s 2026 election is on display at the Art Gallery of Northumberland, Victoria Hall’s west wing, third floor, through Monday, October 26. The Town’s October 9 announcement invites the community to view all entries in its youth “I Voted” sticker contest.
The exhibition offers a look at young residents’ contributions to civic life. The Town named Desi and Walter as the winners in their respective age categories. This report does not reproduce the designs.
Plan a visit
Victoria Hall is at 55 King Street West, Cobourg. The announcement identifies the exhibition location and closing date, but does not state exhibition visiting hours, admission charges or accessibility arrangements. Check those details with the gallery before making a special trip; the exhibition’s closing date is not a promise of continuous access.
“My Ideal Town” essay contest
Students 17 years old and younger can submit a creative 350-word essay describing the programmes, services and community features they would like in an ideal town. The deadline is October 26, 2026, at 8 p.m.
Entries must include the young person’s full name, age and/or grade, a parent or guardian’s name, and the parent or guardian’s email address or phone number. Send entries directly to cobourgvotes@cobourg.ca, or by mail to the Office of the Municipal Clerk, 55 King Street West, Cobourg, ON K9A 2M2. The announcement does not provide a separate postal grace period.
Town staff will present the entries to the newly elected 2026–2030 Council. One participant will be chosen to read their essay at the inaugural Council meeting, and all essay entrants will be invited to the meeting and following reception. The notice does not supply the meeting date.
Where to get an election sticker
Printed stickers will be available at the Town’s Voter Help Centres or from the Clerk’s Office at Victoria Hall after residents cast their internet ballot. For the locations and published schedules, read our Voter Help Centre guide. Voting runs October 16 at 9 a.m. to October 26 at 8 p.m.; those voting-period times are not the same as the help centres’ opening hours.
Contest questions can be directed to the Clerk’s department at 905-372-4301 ext. 9520 or the email address above.
