A different beach day
Cobourg’s West Beach has pebbles and sand, naturalized grass and a public boardwalk between Hibernia and Ontario streets. It offers a different setting from the broad sandy Victoria Beach.
Notice the garden
The Ecology Garden lies north of the shore and is maintained by local residents. Stay on appropriate public routes and leave plants and habitat undisturbed.
Choose it for the walk
Plan around the shoreline experience rather than assuming the same facilities as Victoria Park. Bring suitable footwear and check your route and washroom options. Confirm local pet rules rather than assuming the beach is dog-friendly.
Keep places straight
Health-unit information may also mention West Beach in Port Hope. That is a different location. Always check the municipality when reading a water report or directions.
