Summer brings more services
Summer is the natural season for a beach day, but it also brings paid high-season waterfront parking and competition for spaces. Do not assume seasonal vendors or splash-pad operation from a photograph.
Autumn changes the rhythm
A walk, a downtown lunch and a history stop can make a satisfying visit outside peak swimming season. Washroom service is listed only through Thanksgiving weekend, and water monitoring is seasonal.
Winter and spring need another plan
Treat the waterfront as a landscape to enjoy cautiously, not a promise of open summer facilities. Avoid ice, exposed piers and dangerous waves; check closures and opening hours.
Events need a year attached
Use the official calendar for confirmed dates. A festival name or an old article is not proof that an event is happening on a particular weekend this year.
