Cobourg’s winter parking restrictions took effect November 1, 2026. Anyone staying overnight or visiting downtown and the waterfront should distinguish the seasonal street restrictions from ordinary parking fees and time limits.
Overnight restrictions on designated roads
The Town’s October 30 reminder says parking is prohibited on designated collector and arterial roads from 2 a.m. to 7 a.m., November 1 through March 31. Schedule K of Parking Bylaw 048-2023 identifies the affected roads. This is not described as a blanket overnight ban on every street.
Snow removal and weather-event restrictions
The Town also says vehicles must not obstruct street snow removal. A separate rule prohibits parking on any highway in the municipality during a snow or significant weather event when notice has been given. This article does not establish that such an event declaration is currently active.
The reminder identifies winter-season no-parking restrictions at any time for cul-de-sacs, wide corners, laneways, one-way streets and lay-bys under Schedule L. Check the applicable street rules before leaving a vehicle.
Planning a visit
Use off-street parking where permitted and check posted signs. Free parking allowances do not override a winter restriction. Our parking guide provides general visitor context; the Town’s notice and designated-road map are the authoritative sources for these winter rules.
For street-specific questions, the Municipal Law Enforcement and Licensing Office number published by the Town is 905-372-8380. No fine, towing charge or overnight lot permission has been inferred here.
